Glass-Window Hopper:

you must be thinking every pellet grill has a hopper. What’s new in it! But one of my favorite thing about this grill is its side fuel hopper too. Its 9-pound hopper has the capacity to engulf 18lbs of pellets which is perfect for long term usage.

Hopper with a glass window Is a brilliant creation to monitor your pellet consumption. With this astounding design of the side hopper, you can conveniently manage the addition and removal of pellets. It comes with a back door through which cleaning has also become easy.

Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett Wifi Smart control system:

People say that with the latest inventions and technology, our new generation has become lazy! yes, it’s true, but this has made life easy and simple as well. With one touch you can control anything you want. Resting on your couch on lazy Sundays, using your phone, and keeping an eye on your food without any movement is pretty amazing.

I didn’t ever experience a grill before, because a busy routine is a part of my life. keep on checking the food and managing it to cook evenly, is not my cup of tea. but after the launch of this remarkable pellet grill, I can manage everything on my hands.

I usually control my Green Mountain Grills Davy Crockett Wifi with ease. I set the food on, get busy at work or accompany my guests, it’s always stress-free for me. Temperature control:

How to control temperature

If you can control the temperature, you can do anything. An evenly cooked only comes out when the temperature is constant and you keep on checking what’s the grill is doing to your meat. To monitor the working of the temperature inside the grill there are two meat probes. This creation has taken the grilling to another level.

I plug one side of the meat probe into my display panel and the other is attached to the meat inside the grill. The internal temperature displays on the screen.

There is no need to open and check the meat again and again. Same thing! Without any movement, I monitor the temperature in my mobile app. The app also tells you when is the time to flip the meat.

It’s a lot easy to get a juicy flavor by trapping the steam inside the food. The need of opening the lid, again and again, has gone.

Everyone wishes to camp in the moonlight with their partners. A barbeque at the campsite makes your trip more wonderful. Taking your kitchen with yourself is quite impressive and gives your trip a mesmerizing flavor as well. With the lightweight, it can be picked up effortlessly and can walk by your side every time. I easily grab it with me but if you cant pick it up alone then look for a helping hand and your grill is ready to go with you.

Power control:

First BBQ Experience

Bbq on Green Mountain Davy Crocket Grill

Considering it as my first Green Mountain Davy Crockett review, it was amazing and I love this product.

I started with unpacked the grill at first and made it stand on the legs so that it could reach the workable height.

I took all of the parts out and unwrapped them. Firstly I started with the lid handle as per instructions, I placed the thermal washer on the back and front sides of the handle and adjusted it properly, then I slided the side rack and hooked the bucket on.

After that, I took out the gasket and placed it against the chimney and reinstalled the bolts back to the place. I fixed the chimney facing upwards because I was going to grill next. I added the pellets into the burn pot and set my grates on to start my grilling for the first time. Then it was startup time. I plugged the switch into the wall outlet.

By clicking on the power button the auger started feeding on the pellets. The process started at 0 and at 1 it stopped. As per instruction I again pressed the power button and the grill started running at 0 and rises to 150° which is the initial temperature. I have used 4 probes from InkBird IBT-4XS thermometer.

Then I set the temperature to 225 degrees and within 20-25 minutes my burgers were ready to eat.

As the pellets burn, the steam is evaporated that makes the food juicy and smoky as well. They don’t dry out the food like other charcoal and gas grills. This took my burgers to another level and I loved the way it cooked. It was all even and properly cooked.

In the end, I dropped the temperature and pressed the shut down button which turned on the fan and all the excess ashes were blown out. After the fan cycle, I turned the grill off. If you are a complete beginner then I would recommend to go through this article as it has helped me a lot through the process of grilling.

Solving the problems before you face them

Fixing the hotspots:

Complaints about hotspots(right\left side getting too much hot) have increased a lot in this grill that’s why the exact placement of the heat shield is very important. It helps split the heat evenly to the right and left.

  • If it seems to get hotter than displayed on the right then move your heat shield further to the right
  • Move the heat shield to the left, if the grill is running cool.

You won’t face any kind of hotspot issues with your grill after placing the heat shield at the right place. Notice where you have placed the heat shield after cooking and next time place it the same way.

Issues that are related to temperature fluctuation or combustion can be faced due to the chimney cap.

Lose the nut and Raise the height of your chimney cap all the way up while grilling, this will make enough space for steam to escape out.

Make sure that the height at which you set the chimney should be equal to the width of your two fingers.

Proper surface for the grill:

People might not know that pellet grills heat up quickly and can damage the surface on which they are placed.

This grill is not made to withstand plastic or any other surface. It can leave marks or melt the surfaces. It’s made to be placed on the metal and noncombustible table surface to grill harmlessly.

Make sure to keep these points in mind before you grill. Surely after these safety measures, you won’t face any kind of problem. This grill could be your happy grill.
